Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve
About
Known as the “Jewel of Vidarbha,” Tadoba is characterized by hilly terrain and the expansive Tadoba Lake. It is a best-selling wildlife destination in Maharashtra due to its high frequency of “multi-generational” tiger sightings.
History
The park draws its name from Taru, a local Gond tribal chief legacy who was killed in a legendary encounter with a tiger. A shrine dedicated to him still exists on the banks of the lake, visited by locals during festivals.
